Slidell Haiti Missionary Foundation
History
In 2017, was Willie L Robinson's first time going to Hait with Go Haiti to assist with the orphanage in Port au Prince. He cried and could barely sleep after seeing the living conditions of those children. He saw the people in poverty like he had never seen before. The poorest of people in the United States have plenty compared to the children and adults at this particular orphanage that Go Haiti is funding. Yet the children are smiling and laughing, they still had joy and they truly appreciate everything we do to help them. This was the birth of the WLR Haiti Mission Foundation in Slidell, LA. He got involved with Go Haiti when he heard of a clothing, shoes, and supplies drive in Slidell. He started gathering and asking people for donations, and God open many avenues for him to receive donations.

After about his third trip to Haiti he met Dr. Franco the founder and visionary of Go Haiti. His goal is to provide the necessities but to make sure they learn about God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We were building and bringing supplies into the orphanage in Port au Prince. We were trying to make the orphanage as comfortable as we could for the children there. When the Haitian President got killed things got really bad in Port au Prince, we had to move the children twice first to Hinch and now in Baladair. The gangs have taken over most of Haiti. He prays that the US government or someone will go to Haiti to restore law and order. The people there need all the help they can get. He keeps going because he truly believes that this is what God has prepared him for throughout his life. Every time he goes to Haiti there are various projects, he has installed showers-built shelves, installed a water line to the dormitory, kitchen area, and fixed other things at the new location but there is so much more work to be done. While in Haiti they have been treating exclusion for mosquitoes' protection due to Malaria and other diseases because. In August 2023 when we go, we will be teaching various skills to some of the young men and women.

Mission
We ares a non-profit organization committed to reaching the lost and poor of Haiti at any cost. President and founder, Willie L. Robinson and Mentor Dr. Franco Jean-Louis has been working diligently with a variety of Christian organizations. Our goal has always been the same: to meet the physical and the spiritual needs of the Haitian people, especially abandoned children and the sick.
Vision & Goals
To empower and impact Haitian Society's current and future generations. To achieve economic self-sufficiency in the areas of health care, education, and spiritual guidance by caring for orphaned and abandoned children.
Our goal is to teach various vocational skills to the children and adults at the orphanage so they can be self-sufficient and maybe they can teach others in Haiti.
There’s a saying, give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.’ I have truly been blessed by all the help and encouragement by my Pentecost MBC family and the Slidell community. We are now working under The Willie L. Robinson Haiti Missionary Foundation which is a 501C3 Nonprofit organization. We, the board and the members will continue supporting the needs of the Haitian children and we would like to get young people involved to join our foundation. Forever we will strive to make their lives better. (Deuteronomy 15:11) For the poor will never cease from the land; therefore, I command you, saying, you shall open your hand wide to your brother, to your poor and your needy, in your land. This is our history and our legacy.
